Side Projects preview from Curiosity with Gusto by Felix Harling

The value of side projects

One of the value of working for a large company with an “open door” culture is the opportunity to easily connect to colleagues across business areas. E.g. you meet them as participants of a visual pitch training session. This session was again the result of knowing the chief product owner of a new cloud solution thanks to the daily commute.

Connections open up space for side projects from your day job. Projects that may be as short as a half-day design thinking team training or as interesting like creating a visual story for partners for the adoption of SAP S/4 HANA Cloud.

A side project is like a fellowship in short: you are exposed to a new business area, use your own strengths and combine them with the experience and customer intimacy of the colleagues with whom you collaborate. The side project becomes part of your continuous learning journey and contributes to grow your network.

Thanks to Glenn Fischer and the SAP Partner Solution Center for this opportunity.
